Heather Colquhoun is the Vice President, Talent at Aecon Group Inc., where she provides strategic leadership of Aecon’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Experience, Learning/Aecon University, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development teams.
Heather brings more than 20 years of progressive experience in human resources and organizational development to Aecon. She has held various roles, including global HR business partner, regional HR director for Canada with oversight of HR generalist services across all lines of business in both English and French, and Global Director, Talent Acquisition. Heather spent over 16 years consulting for a range of industries, including consumer packaged goods, engineering/EPCM, healthcare, insurance, professional services, retail, and telecommunications, building organizational and leadership capabilities. She has a master’s degree in Organizational Diversity, and designations as Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP). Heather also taught organizational behaviour for three years at Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto.
Outside of work, Heather is involved in charitable board work as Chair of Halton Women’s Place, a shelter serving women and children fleeing domestic violence in Halton Region, Ontario, Canada, and Treasurer of CanTeach Connections, an education-focused charity supporting the teaching and learning of English in El Salvador.
